Notarizations and certificates
Do you need a registration certificate, a certificate of eligibility, a certification of your documents or have you misplaced your tax ID? You can find all the information you need here at a glance.
Registration certificates
You can apply for a certificate of your data entered in the population register. According to § 18 BMG, a simple registration certificate generally contains data on the following:
- Surname,
- former names,
- First names (with identification of the surname),
- doctoral degrees,
- religious and stage names,
- date of birth,
- place of birth,
- State of birth (only if born abroad),
- current addresses, categorized according to main and secondary residence.
Upon request, further data stored in the registration register (e.g. marital status, nationality or former addresses) can be included in the certificate, which is then an extended registration certificate. The additional data to be listed must be named by the applicant. The above-mentioned scope of data can also be reduced upon request. If the application does not contain any information on the scope of data, a simple registration certificate will be issued.

You are also welcome to send us a request to stadtservice@gera.de or to the City of Gera, Stadtservice H35, Kornmarkt 12, 07545 Gera, enclosing the documents listed below:
- Copies of your identity document (both sides!)
- Indication of the data the certificate must contain
- Indication of where the certificate is to be presented
- Proof of payment of the fee of 8 euros per registration certificate (Sparkasse Gera-Greiz, IBAN DE90 8305 0000 0000 0000 19, BIC HELADEF1GER with the reference 11.00001.5)

Authorization certificate
Young people who start an employment relationship (e.g. an apprenticeship) before the age of 18 and for whom the future employer requires a medical examination can obtain an examination authorization certificate (UB-Schein) from StadtService H35. This is regulated by the Youth Employment Protection Act (JArbSchG).

- Copies of your identity document (both sides!)
- If a follow-up examination is required, we also need the existing training or internship contract.

Notarizations
A certification confirms that copies, photocopies, duplicates, negatives, printouts of electronic documents or electronic documents correspond to the original.
Signatures and hand signs on documents are certified by authorities if the signed document is required for submission to an authority or other body to which the signed document must be submitted on the basis of a legal provision.

Tax ID
If you have not received your tax ID or cannot find it, you can request it again free of charge using the input form of the Federal Central Tax Office.
A written confirmation of the tax ID entered in the population register can also be issued directly at StadtService H35 for a fee of 5.00 euros if you come in person and present a valid ID document. It is not necessary to make an appointment.
