Use of the city coat of arms

According to the main statutes of the City of Gera, the coat of arms and individual parts of it are legally protected as national emblems.

Use by third parties requires the approval of the Communications, Press and Public Relations Department of Gera City Council.

The protection of the city coat of arms covers not only the identical adoption, but also the merely similar reproduction, provided that this contains the essential features of the original and is thus suitable for indicating the authorized party. 

Use of the logo

The logo of the City of Gera is protected and may not be used without further ado, as it is registered with the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA). The trademark right for the logo is held by the City of Gera. Use by third parties requires the approval of the Communications, Press and Public Relations Department of Gera City Council, which acts as the trademark rights holder.

The City of Gera follows the principle of neutrality and for this reason clearly distances itself from the suggestion of any kind of own political participation in meetings.
