Disability representative
An important form of advocacy on behalf of people with disabilities is the installation of the Disability Officer in the city of Gera.
The main task of the representative for the concerns of citizens with disabilities in the city of Gera is to serve as a source of inspiration and to raise awareness of the needs and concerns of people with disabilities. Barriers should be broken down so that people with disabilities can participate equally in life in our city. The Disability Commissioner is also the point of contact for people with disabilities and their relatives, supporting them in difficult life situations and in their efforts to participate.

- Advice for people with disabilities and their relatives
- Checking the responsibility of authorities
- Referral to special advice centers
- Assistance with social problems
- Participation in barrier-free planning processes for transportation and housing
