Enforcement service

The municipal enforcement service is responsible for averting danger and maintaining public safety and order. The focus is on the prosecution and punishment of administrative offenses. The enforcement officers are out and about in the city on foot, in company cars and on bicycles.

Tasks:

• Noise abatement, especially in the event of nocturnal disturbances caused by private parties and celebrations
• Immobilization of vehicles in the event of non-payment of insurance and tax as well as defects
• Dogs must be kept on a lead
• School admissions
• Youth protection checks in restaurants, amusement arcades and at events
• Monitoring public squares, parks and children's playgrounds in order to issue bans on persons and groups of people if they endanger safety or order
• Intervene against aggressive and organized beggars
• Prevent excessive alcohol abuse in public places
• control alcohol prohibition zones
• Monitoring the course of major events
• Towing away motor vehicles in accordance with StVO, ThürStraßenG and Thüringer Ordnungsbehördengesetz
• Checking moving and stationary traffic
