Monument protection (lower monument protection authority)

The task of the monument protection authority is to take into account and review the principles of monument protection and preservation in the respective building project. Cultural monuments worthy of protection within the meaning of the Monument Protection Act are objects, groups of objects or parts of objects in whose preservation there is a public interest for artistic, scientific, technical, historical or urban planning reasons.

Tasks:

- Keeping the list of monuments of the Otto Dix City of Gera

- Providing information on the status of monuments

- Issuing permits under monument protection law,

  in the building permit procedure and

  outside the building permit procedure

- Statements as a representative of public interests

- Processing of applications for subsidies, advice,

  Preliminary review of applications and proof of use

- Processing applications for tax certificates, preliminary examination of applications

- Management of the Monument Advisory Board of the Otto Dix City of Gera

- Examination of right of first refusal

- Public relations work:

  Open Monument Day, publications, exhibitions, lectures
