Digitalization and IT

The Digitalization and IT department shapes and steers digital development within the city administration and in the city. It is the central point of contact for questions and suggestions relating to digitalization. The department promotes, encourages and manages digitalization projects both across departments and within departments and implements them together with the specialist departments.

Its tasks include the operation of the technical IT infrastructure (servers, PCs, printers, etc.), the mail service, the support of IT specialist procedures for the departments, the administration of the administrative network and Internet access. In addition, the department ensures that IT and communication services are secured and that data is protected against unauthorized access and destruction.
