n the Street Services Department, special use permits are issued for intended street use, e.g. for open-air catering, events, private construction work or product presentation, as well as for street use for short-term event advertising (posters, tarpaulins, spans) or permanent advertising (large advertising boards, advertising columns, frame systems on public lighting poles/light mast advertising), advertising for elections and referendums.

Inquiries about the street cleaning and street cleaning fee statutes, about the content and scope of the cleaning obligations of property owners (clearing and gritting obligation on sidewalks in winter; residents' cleaning), about street cleaning fee notices and objections are answered, notifications about changes in property owners or property data as well as notices about cleaning deficits in the residents' area are received.

Information is also provided on the locations and emptying frequencies of wastebaskets in public streets and at bus stops operated by Geraer Verkehrsbetrieb GmbH.
